Hi Guys,
Just a few photo's from Weston Airfield taken last Saturday. The Aer Lingus DH89 along with 2 Chipmunks in Irish Aer Corp Markings. I was taken out onto the tarmac hence the close up photo's.

I just thought some of the members here would like to see it. I'm not sure how well known it is, that a Grumman Goose is parked at Weston. The last time I was standing beside it it looked in flyable condition.

There's a lot of interesting stuff in Weston.

But looking at the photos, I see Dragon and I see 2 Chipmunks in Air Corps colours, but I am missing those other two in Aer Corp Markings, Joe has mentioned....

Nice shots, Joe.

How did you get out there, and was it a special event or are they there a lot of the time?

Maybe a potential outing for the club, if you have the contacts....? (We could even look at the Goose!)

Hi All, it was a special day of flying organised by Management and Pilots who are based at Weston Airport, for teens and young adults with special needs. The Iolar also did a couple of joy flights. On the other side of the ramp was up to 7 light aircraft who brought up all the young people. There will be an article about it in the next Flying In Ireland.

The goose has not flown in years and would require a lot of recertification and work on it, plus lots of money to keep those radial engines in fuel.

Just to advise the goose has had its registration cancelled since early last year.

Paul, do you know what year of birth is on that Goose, by any chance? Just thinking, how cool it would be, to get it painted in war time camo... Cheers
