OK, no build pics yet, but I did get a wee bit done last night.

First major step was to actually clean up the work area:

And unpack the kit. 6 plastic sprues, the upper hull, tyres, large sprue of clear, some very fine PE and a small sheet of decals:

Some back-ground on the Maxx Pro curtesy of Wikipedis:
The International MaxxPro MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle is an armored fighting vehicle designed by American company Navistar International's subsidiary Navistar Defense along with the Israeli Plasan Sasa, who designed and manufactures the vehicle's armor.[4] The vehicle was designed to take part in the US Military's Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program, led by the US Marine Corps, as well as a similar US Army-led Medium Mine Protected Vehicle program.

Jeez that's a lot of parts considering the top hull is almost complete!

So the actual build began Monday evening...
The front wheel assembly can be made so the wheels turn. It's not in the instructions, but if the 2 hub halves are not glued to the axel and the connector bar has the pins melted rather than glued the wheels will turn:

The rest of the under-carrage went together very easy. Normally I would keep this seperate to the body for painting, but that's not an option as it's integral to the body. At least I know it's level.

Parts C5 & C6 are reversed in the instructions. It's quite obvious when you dry fit them so no big issue....

Underside complete and armour on:

And with the top dry-fitted:

This kit is going together very well. I was concerned about the allignment of the side-bins and the the fit with the top but it was flawless. It's very well engineered and molded. But there are some serious flaws too...
Sink marks down the side of the hull. They're not too bad so I might leave them as filling & sanding will probably take some of the armour/bolt head detail off. The weapons are not great. The M2 is actually pretty crap. The Mk19 has one of the nicest barrels I#ve seen in plastic but the body lets it down. These will be replaced by a Live Resin Mk47 I just happen to have.

One of the sprues in the box seems to be from the Kinetic M-ATV and includes a Rhino anti-IED device. While not shown in the instructions this will get used. There's also a lot of extra comms gear. I'm going to make the inside as busy as possible with these little extras. It may not all be kosher but will try getting it as realistic as I can

I'd expect around 2 weeks from Hobby Easy Michael.

It's a log bigger than a Humvee Graham. About the same size as teh Revell Dingo I just finished, but sits a lot higher.

Started work on the interior:
Posted Image
there's a lot fo little bits to go inside (plus all the extra gear I'll add) and the upper exterior has a ton of parts to go on. Will make it difficult doing hairy-brush painting so progress from now will be a lot slower

I'm at roughly the same point with the Tiger. Interior is looking good Sean. It'll really look the part with plenty of stowage- the Meng stuff certainly looks good from what I've seen of it. That base looks damn good too, the perfect setting for this vehicle I think!

Heil Mickey!
Just for a bit of inspiration and weathering guide: Czech Army boys serving in 'A' hung up a few photos of their trucks here. Hope you'll like it, although there are 2 vehicles, older and newer version, so carefully with the details.

it weights between 12.5 & 14.5 tons depending on the armour package installed and stands over 10ft tall not counting the gun tub!

Some small progress on the interior:
Posted Image
Most of which won't be really seen after the windows with the slats go on....

Also started putting together the Live Resin Mk47. I'd forgotten how nice these pieces are. Clean crisp molding and fit together so well with easy removal from the pour blocks, very little clean-up and clear instructions. These photos do not do it justice:

And busy putting together seat belts:
Posted Image

24 needed in total for 6 seats x 4 point harness. 6 on the bottom left for the buckles, and then 9 on the right with PE tie-downs at each end. Once painted and cut these will give the 18 other bits of different lengths. Should have included something in the pic for scale, but they are tiny. At least I thought they were until I saw Michaels horn & whiltle and stuff for his Flower class...
