With a Vietnam era Mutt, it's equivalent at the time, for size comparison

Home stretch is in sight. Windows and lights fitted. Front grill washed...needs a little tidy up!
Decals and very minimal weathering then all the fragile nits to finish: mirrors, antennae and doors.

Heil Mickey!
It's not that big, it's just too high... Wouldn't fancy to be sitting in the turret while rambling through the roads of Afghanistan. I think that the gunner needs anti-seasickness pills.

They do have a high centre of gravity and were fine in the relativly flat ground in Iraq but had a tendency to roll at anything over 25degrees in the Afgan mountains. Hence the Oshkosh M-ATV was born

Almost done

Next step could destroy it all: clear coat and/or light sand wash.

Why destroy? Just use oils or enamel washes and no problem, if you won't like the result, just wash it off with white spirit.

Nice looking AFV there Sean. Very busy with the aerials and lollipop sticks on the back.
Is it just me or do all these modern AFV seem like their overscale, designed for a race of 7ft tall GI's . The comparison with the Willy Jeep is striking. :P

Thanks guys.

It's not just you Brian, they do all look BIG! The height is for extra ground clearence and to accommodate the V shaped hull, both to help dissipate mine blasts. Internally they also have lots of headroom. The M-ATV is a little bit more normal looking. Can't wait for Kinetic their new and improved (corrected) version.
