Waaaay in advance, but just in case that you want to make some preparations, mark it in your diaries and so on. The last proper modelling event of 2014:

This year's Modelling Munster should take place on Sunday 14th of December - to be confirmed.
The same venue, the same rules, the same time scale as last year and, most likely, the same classes.
There will be one extra Trophy sponsored by IPMS Ireland, details on this one will be confirmed too down the line.

Keep knocking 'em out :>

I know that everybody looks forward to D.III, nevertheless we have to keep up the Modelling Munster alive as well and we had a bit of a thought or two about the set-up and classes break down.

We have 8 sets of medals and we have 6 standing classes, the same as last year:

A: Juniors up to 16 years of age - all scales, all skills, all classes
B: Seniors – Aircraft up to 1/72 scale - 1:144, 1:100, 1:96, 1:76 and so on...
C: Seniors – Aircraft above 1/71 scale - 1:50, 1:48, 1:32, 1:24 and so on...
D: Seniors – Armour and military soft-skin vehicles all scales
E: Seniors – Figures, busts, dioramas, vignettes all scales
F: Seniors – Miscellaneous all scales - cars, bikes, trains, humour, boats and so on...

What we will do is to create sub-categories into two of these classes to bring a bit more variety and to encourage more small armour and figures/bust to be entered. So, what it means?
Classes D and E will be split in two, one main class and one sub-category, to give us some space just in case that there will not be enough of models entered into the sub-categories. The break down of classes for Modelling Munster 2014 will look like this:

A: Juniors up to 16 years of age - all scales, all skills, all classes
B: Seniors – Aircraft up to 1/72 scale - 1:144, 1:100, 1:96, 1:76 and so on...
C: Seniors – Aircraft above 1/71 scale - 1:50, 1:48, 1:32, 1:24 and so on...
D: Seniors – Armour and military soft-skin vehicles above 1:47 scale - 1:35, 1:32, 1:24, 1:16 and so on...
D1: Seniors - Armour and military soft-skin vehicles below 1:48 scale - including 1:48, 1:72, 1:76, 1:87 and so on...
E: Seniors – Dioramas, vignettes all scales - military, civilian, fantasy
E1: Seniors - Figures, busts, Warhamer groups and figures
F: Seniors – Miscellaneous all scales - cars, bikes, trains, humour, boats and so on...

If there will be enough of interest, we will create separate classes out of those sub-categories for 2015 and if the system will work, we will look at other Classes, like F, where sub-categories could be created to accommodate civilian vehicles and motorbikes or boats and floating craft.

Web page will be updated soon-ish :-"

Hi Filip
Is there any chance of getting the code for the Modelling Munster banner to add to my signature?

Vincent, sorry, haven't noticed your request up till now... I'll post it up over the weekend at some stage - that means tomorrow, as I'll be working on Sunday and I am babysitting today, so not too much time on my hands right now.

I have a bit of update as well: the 1st two entries for this year's Modelling Munster have been registered already! And it wasn't myself who entered those models :-" The forms came in via post yesterday :>

edit:
got some time after all...
Code:

...as the days are rolling, we have some confirmations of attendance from traders and exhibitors. We are delighted and pleased that:

- Irish Transport Books and Models should be there with their book stall and kits

- Royal British Legion Limerick Branch will be there as well to do some promotion for the organisation and to sell some of their merchandise to help raise much needed funds

I'm hoping to drive down on Sunday. Anyone else going from Dublin? I'll have room in the car if anyone is interested?

Another handful of models entered just before the online entry deadline, including Airfix 1:24 scale Typhoon amongst them. Really looking forward to see this one built up.

See you on Sunday
