So here is my entry for the group build. Sprues are in a light tan colour and look nicely detailed ![]() ![]() ![]() Nice decal sheet too ![]() I will be doing the paint scheme for a nato humvee in Bosnia circa 1996. Also Hulk will be watching, hopefully things don't end up getting smashed ![]() ![]() Unfortunately I am moving at the moment so there won't be any updates on this for a while. Good luck to everyone taking part. |

Thanks for the good wishes. I am going to try do a full work in progress thread and will be looking for any advice people can give. Moving sucks ![]() First question is what do people find the best acrylics for brush painting? I have only used humbrol and Tamiya so far so would like to try out some others. |

Personally I've found both Vallejo and Games Workshop paints are best for brush painting. You need to lay down a good primer first and dilute the paint just a little to give a smooth coat. |

I have to agree with Sean about Vallejo- they are perfect for brush painting. Good luck with the move! Edited by Karl187, May 21 2014, 01:05 PM.

I'd also recommend Revell Aqua Colour, it's all I use and I'm very happy with brush painting them. I'd also thin the paint a bit, as Sean says. As far as I know, but Revell and Vallejo can be found in Dublin... J. |

Revell can be found at Toymaster on the corner of Mary Street and Jervis Street. Vallejo at a small model shop on Capel Street. |

Nice job. Can't have been easy do all the detail at that scale. I'd do the springs in flat black or satin Cheers Sean |

Well it wasn't too bad to paint, I just need to try not to rush it, and the kit fits together really well so very little glue is required which makes life much easier ![]() I will try flat black for the springs, thanks. |

Yeah I used Tamiya acrylics which everyone says is hard to brush paint but it worked out ok for me. Just needs lots of paint and lots of patience

That looks the biz Padraig. Great build and lovely paint job with just right punt of weathering. Be warned though : Humvees can be addictive! I've only done about 18 of them.....any of the 3 different Bronco M1114s or the Academy M1151 are lovely kits |

Thanks for the feedback guys, it is nice to hear. Sean, I have a feeling I will be doing one of the up-armoured versions soon, looking at the bronco kits at the moment. |
