Surprised at the lack of Dutch armour in this one! :>
I had planned on doing a 1/35th Piranha from Revell but my airbrush has packed in and until I replace it or figure out what's wrong with the current one I'm avoiding big kits! So thankfully after digging around I found this little guy.

It's not bad actually, gives you parts for a Dutch and a German version which is nice as they're the only countries using these little guys at the moment.

So I started late last night and to be honest it doesn't look like much but those windows took a long time to cut out and fit

Which is great cause you can't even tell they're there... damn..
Oh the mudflaps were part of the backplate that attaches to the hull but they are not strong so I cut them free before I glued it on just avoid breaking them during construction.

Anyway another of Revells little gems that I would say has been missed quite a lot.

Lovely little vehicle and one I should do sometime. I'm looking forward to seeing it come together.

Also, the P-51 in the background is looking damn good as well. :>

@Sean, Yeah it's actually really nice. The more I look at it and work on it, I want to go see what the other German 1/72nd armour is like. (I will put pictures of that Mustang up someday  )
@Barry, I'm going for the box camo but I found pictures of them deployed in Afghanistan or Iraq that have kind of a sandy brown just painted over the Nato camo. So I was thinking of doing that. Nice and patchy.

Anyway here's some progress!

It is really small! I need to find another 1/72nd piece of armour to compare it too.

Looking good. I really like the look of the Fennek, but will get the Trumpy version in my preferred scale....eventually. There are also pics of the Fennek in the desert scheme like the Dingo I finished recently

It looks funny in desert camo and snow back-ground. Just shows the extremes of climate

Well this little thing sure loves to fight you. Just so many tiny parts! Have a bunch of spares for a German version, probably useful for other modern German armour in 1/72nd.

Those are the parts that make up one of the two smoke launchers. Thank god for the little white wax pencils I got off Radu at Solider show in May, they probably saved the day

Just two views with most of the smaller parts stuck on.

How to make a nice sandy base
Posted Image
Take two cups of sand and some pva (not pictured)

Posted Image
Mix together and apply over a randomly slapped on mound of DAS modelling clay. Paint assorted sand and browns or greys. Leave to set over night and clean the excess from around the edges with an alcohol wipe. :>

So I've got all four wheels on and most of the smaller parts are painted and drying off. However I'm just not near finished. Cause of work this weekend I never got a chance to put a coat of varnish down so it'll take a least a day to set and I won't have it down till tomorrow. So I'll be missing the end of this one. However I will finish the Fennek this week and will bring it to Hawkins street on Saturday.
Sorry for that one Sean! I'll make it up for you guys and do up a tutorial on the base. I have to make more soon.
