Hi Guys, I know that this may seem a bit odd coming from me but I read an article in Flypast recently and it was describing the activities of the Sikorsky HO3S in Marine service in action in the Korean war. It kinda caught my eye and if I had to build a helicopter it would certainly grab by attention! So the question is has anyone build one and if so what kit and what scale and was it any good as a kit??? Cheers Joe M |

Wikipedia You might have an easier time looking for a kit of the Sikorsky H-5, the base model of the HO3S. I had a look on Scalemates, which is a great resource for tracking down a kits but I've come up empty for either version. |

HO3S in 1/72 scale, I think, been made by MPM sometime in the late 90's and, I think, Aerodrom /?/ has injection moulded kit of this little bird as well. Not sure about availability, but the 2nd offering looks easier to assemble, there should be clear fuselage as opposed to hard to fit vac form nose in the MPM box. |
