What about compressor?Cans arent worth considering

airbrushsupplyonline.co.uk

AS186 and HS30 bundle for £80

This is my setup and I think its great(unbeatable?) in the price range .Im not sure if you went for a compressor without tank youd manage a medium budget spec airbrush but I think its best to spend the initial money on the compressor and upgrade the airbrush as skills and finances justify .At the last IPMS Dublin meeting the member who gave the recent airbrush 'demo' told me he'd just bought an AS186 compressor.

I'd agree with John re the need for a compressor. If you haven't one, then I'd certainly go with his set up. However, if you already have a compressor, then there are many better airbrushes out there...

If you have never used a airbrush before, and have no compressor, then John's set up gives you the chance to try things out. I did this for some time, using something similar to the airbrush in that set-up, before "moving up" to my current airbrush (I still use the compressor). The change, though, when I moved up, was significant. Therefore....

My choice of airbrush is Harder and Steenbeck. You can see details here:-

I have had mine for a couple of years now, and have had absolutely no problems (and their construction means that you can strip down and clean in little more than 5 minutes).

Others may have different favourites.

Philip

PS - there is one currently available on the Swap and Sell facebook group page for £80:-

Is there any that come recommended stocked by Irish retailers? Looking at starting to use an airbrush after Christmas. So if I am thinking right, i'll need both an airbrush / compressor?
