Just one thing and probably not the right place to put it but oh well. At D3 it was still a busy and full show at 3pm, with people still coming in. Is there anyway of extending the opening time to 4pm?
Half 3 just seems slightly early.
Just my view given what the show was like in September.
Simon

We did think about that, but we have to have some respect for those travelling some distance, and finish in time to let them get home at a reasonable hour. (Not everyone lives in Dublin, or nearby, like myself!).

In addition, of course, we have to have the AGM, and that starts at 4. We need to be out of the hotel by 6 pm, with everything cleared up, so that's cutting things a bit fine anyhow, so...in answer to your question ....we have looked at it, but we have decided that 3.30 is as late as we can go in terms of letting folks in. Extending it further to a 4 pm close would be just too tight.

However, we did take into account the fact that the traders did not do so well on the Sunday afternoon at D2, when the award ceremony happened at 1 pm, because people just cleared out immediately after, so that's why the award ceremony is now not going to happen until 3 pm.

(Maybe the many people there at D3 at 3 pm on the Sunday afternoon last September were folks coming back to collect their prizes.... :-" )

Aye I can understand your point. But I'll point out. We were busy in the trade hall at D3 up until 3pm, I was hopping from stand to stand helping out so not everyone was just dropping in for their prizes :P . But it's understandable if there's such a tight margin of time for the room.

Just a quick one, if you have - if you will be able to get - a few flyers or some sort of promotion for the 2015 Nats to bring it with you down to Modelling Munster this Sunday, feel free to do so. Plenty of room around and a bit of propaganda won't do any harm.

As mentioned before in separate thread, new trophy will be introduced to the collection of awards handed out during the Nationals:

"The Great War Centenary Award”

This award is to commemorate the centenary of the Great War (World War 1), and is for any non-aircraft model, including dioramas and vignettes, representing people, soldiers, artillery, armour, vehicles, boats or models of a civilian nature, from the 1914-1918 period.

And of note is that this Award will run until 2018, so you have only 4 years to do the best to get your hands on this one. I think, that the award itself should get award for the coolest looking award ;)

Those Blue Max trophies look terrific !Ursula Andress was still working up to ten years ago( I Googled to check , briefly forgot she was the legendary Bond girl also ) if the committee wanted to throw her an email to see if she'd do the presentation ...

Cheers, yeah, we, shamefully, missed one year.
There should be more 'round anniversary' trophies present during the hand out ceremony, but that's just my opinion.
