Lovely looking trophies, but how can a Blue Max trophy exclude aircraft entries?!

There's Cross and Cocade Trophy for The Great War aviation entries. So no need for another award to deal with the same.

With this trophy we are trying to encourage people, who might feel that rigging and bi-planes are not for them, to look at different ways how to get stuck with the WWI. We are blessed in that, as there are many new Great War kits appearing in the recent years, be it armour, artillery, figures, busts or civil vehicles in all major scales.

You can always pop in to Modelling Munster in Shannon, last Saturday in August as a warm up. Not that I would be hijacking this thread, but it will give you a bit of a small insight of what's happening during Nationals.

Everybody is registering on Saturday morning in Dublin, not sure about the judging time.
Tralee is about 1.5 hour from Limerick and you'll be in Tallaght within 2hrs from there, motorway all the way, no criss-crossing city centre, just a few roundabouts in City West. See you there

Two signature banners courtesy of The Mad Clown Design Industry.
They should cater for most of the forums, although, I have forgot, again, size for Britmodeller. To use any of those, simply copy the stuff in the 'code' brackets and paste it into your signature box on whichever forum you want to promote this event. Mind you, I can't see too much of point having it plastered all over our forum, but who am I to even think...it's free and it's free to use, the more the merrier, the more people, the more places, and all that.

Folks - if you are thinking of booking the hotel accommodation at the special rate per the thread about this:-

http://forum.ipmsireland.com/topic/10826482/1/?x=30#new

You will need to get moving, as the room rate for the show is only held until August 25th. As you can see from my post on that thread, the hotel has 31 rooms already booked for the show (Saturday night), and has about 40 remaining. Just let them know, when you are booking, that it is for the IPMS Ireland show, and you will get the special rate.

That's good news, Michael.

It looks like there will be quite a few folks booked into the hotel, at least on the Saturday night :-" .

Don't forget to keep the Saturday evening free - Pat's excellent show is taking place less than 8 minutes walk from the hotel at 8.15 in the Tallaght town theatre - you really should not miss it! [And if you have seen it already - as I have (twice) - you know that you will not want to miss the chance to see it again!].

Is there a junior class at the nationals as I thought I seen it somewhere on the forum about classes but for the life of me I can't find if there is what's the rules for example does the model have to be built entirely by the child without adult help or can the adult help with cutting and gluing ect

Hi Des

You will find all of the competition rules on the website - here:-

http://www.ipmsireland.com/Events.html

And yes, the juniors' entries have the work of the child alone.....

Cheers philip I wasn't sure as by child alone surely it means gluing and painting and sanding as I wouldn't be giving my 7 year old daughter the chance to be weilding a hobby knife so her t-rex is out as I helped her with the seams? But the stegasaurus is OK cause she's doing all the work on that under my supervision
