Yes you're right, John. The guy involved (who was Russian background, living in Waterford) never renewed his membership either, despite reminders - not heard from him in about 12 months. (He did get awards in Telford for them too, the year before last.)

While it definitely wasn't scratch built, I did enter my conversion in to A14, but it was moved to A7...

Heil Mickey!
Jason, replacing propeller or external fuel tanks doesn't qualify as conversion anyway... According to rules, conversion is understood making different mark of the aircraft, like P-47 bubble top into razorback, or Spit Mk.V into Mk.IX and so on. I don't have the rules in front of me, but that's what's in there, roughly.

Any source detailed was the right class for it - and it did well

Believe me, I'm delighted with my Silver, and I wasn't giving out about my aircraft being moved. I'm simply pointing out that there was in fact an entry in A14. And I went with A14 after discussion with Pat, the Comp. Secretary here on the forum. The logic we used was that I wasn't detailing the kit (the two pieces I added weren't adding any extra details) but I was using extra pieces to convert the kit I had to a different version (i.e. to a version that had a different type of propeller and drop tank). We both thought it fitted better into A14, but we also both knew it was borderline and could also really have been A7.

Really though, it doesn't matter, my model was judged fairly, and a kit I was proud of was recognised with a Silver medal. So it's all good as far as I'm concerned! 😊

I am working off Pat's handwritten notes, taken at the show, which said that there was no entry in A14.

Anyhow, congrats on your well-deserved SILVER medal.

Going by my hand written notes :D which I'm surprised you could understand at all you wouldn't know there had been an entry in A014 because before the judging even started the judges and I decided that since it was the only entry it should be moved to A07.
There were quite a few models moved either because they were amalgamated into another class, they had been obviously entered into the wrong class or thy had been entered in the right class but placed on the wrong table.

For most of them I got Sean to alter the entry on the computer programme.

Hi Guys- I just had a look there through the photos of D4- such awesome stuff. Many, many congratulations to everyone who entered and all who managed to get themselves some silverware! By the sounds of it the event was a great success. I'm looking forward to seeing more photos when Sean gets them posted.
