Like it says on the tin - what's your top 3 Irish Air Corps aircraft? (no what-ifs here - only types that served please! )Are you a sticks and strings supporter? Or a jet man? Or do rotors get you spinning? Or something from all those? Don't have to have a reason...but happy to hear them if you really want. And it's not scientific, just something I was thinking of while waiting for the paint to dry For me, would be one from each type so probably a Spitfire, Vampire and Dauphin. Over to you.. Dermot |

Well - it's gotta be the Anson for me, for starters. Then probably the Spitfire T9. Finally, though I am not much into jets, I do remember the Silver Swallows, so the final one is pretty obvious.... Philip |

F-16, Alpha Jet and....oh wait... Ireland....hmmm, that's easy, were there more than 3 aircraft in service? I always liked Hurricanes, in general. Martinsyde 'Buzzard' is cool looking machine as well and it's grossly overlooked. Not sure about the 3rd one, just very odd bits and pieces of obscurity were pressed into service. Pity they never went for some war surplus machines, Mustangs, B-17s for maritime patrolling and so on. |
