Hi Guys here is my Academy Bf-109d for the SCW build. this kit fought me all the way as cockpit would not fit in without taking chunks out of it which is why i did not start a thread as thought it would end up in the bin.

Spent over two hours on PC messing about trying to make decals for the number '313' and unit badge but the latter is too small to print .For some reason I can't print smaller than 2.76 mm wide and it needs to be around 2mm .Theres a set can be bought from Spain but with postage it's around a tenner and on a tiny five euro kit I've mentally 'finished' I can't justify it.Maybe I will start feeling the love for this little guy again but for now I'm calling it done .

Ok well I suppose one or two more pics are in order .Ive included A4 paper sheet with ill fated unit badge I was doing prep work on to make decal (its meant to go between 'front' spanish flag and hatch ) and a 2 euro coin (never knew they had stars around rim.iPad camera is way better than iPhone )

Nice to see this one in the "finished kits" group - well done, John.

Glad I have an Optivisor....

I presume that it will fit on the club table at D4?

Rareplanes vacform He112B0 ( V9 ) flown by Oberleutnant Harro Harder (wonder if he was an ancestor of one of the partners in the H&S company whose airbrush I sprayed the model with !?)during his second tour of duty with Legion Kondor in SCW .He scored 11 kills in Spain and around the same in WW2 (including three Spitfires in one day ) before being shot down in 1941

And so it ends.....congrats to all on making it to the end of this Group Build.

I will work through the kits up here, link with names and organise with Sean (Alkatraz) for one of his "choose by lot" draws. This will choose the person who is the "winner" and that person will get their choice of a kit from my SCW stash for successfully completing the GB. I will then choose my own favourite, from the remainder, for a second prize, also of a kit from the SCW stash.

Thanks to everyone who participated, whether you finished or - like me - didn't make it on time....!

Philip

Thanks for running the group build on a very interesting subject which I know a lot more about now (especially from a tank and armoured car perspective) :>

I'll second that , the 'pre -GB talk ' was certainly informative and supported by top quality hand outs .
