Thats progressing really well- some great colors on there already. I would just caution the use of cocktail sticks (or wood sticks) for your 'handle' on heavy parts like the torso. I use cocktail sticks too but only for the smaller, lighter parts like the head and any accessories etc. The trouble is if you handle the torso a lot the stick can break and your nice painted bust can go crashing to the floor. This happened to me even using thick plastic tubing as a handle- it just snapped and down goes the near finished bust! If it can happen to plastic tube it could happen much easier to a cocktail stick. You might not have anything directly to hand right now but its just something to consider as the last thing you want is to be putting the finishing touches on and for the whole thing to go flying to the floor! |

Thanks Karl187. When I'm painting I screw in a piece of wood with a screw through it into the base of the body far enough for it to be secure. |

Unfortunately my wife has not been well and I've not been doing any modelling for almost two months. May or may not get this finished in time for the 10th, but I'm hoping I can get a few hours in to at least make it presentable. Well done, everyone else, some very nice builds. |

Hope your wife feels well soon. That looks really good and it would be a shame to not finish in time but also it would be a shame to rush it. |

Heil Mickey!

There are more important things in life that smelly glue and there's no pressure at all, I think. If there's no time, no mood or no opportunity to do modelling, one is better off not to do any. Better to do it slowly and properly than plough the numbers out. Hope she'll get better very soon, so you can all enjoy the forthcoming madness. |

Just read this now ,get well soon Mrs Khitomer.I find I can go long periods without modelling , I always say I do it WHEN I'm relaxed not to MAKE me relaxed ,that may not be the correct 'approach' but I find it becomes a chore when forced .And if I find it becoming a chore during a session I finish up immediately . |

Khitomer- I hope your wife feels better soon- as Filip said there are more important things in life than modeling and group build deadlines! I wish you and your wife all the very best.
