Just to formally announce it:-

The next IPMS Ireland Nationals will be held in the Plaza Hotel, Belgard Road, Tallaght, on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October 2016.

Details of times, competition entries, kitswop, traders, time of AGM etc., etc., will be worked on over the next couple of months by your hard-working National Committee, but arising from all of the feedback received from members and traders, we have decided to stay with the same venue for 2016, and to go for a slightly later date, which hopefully will not involve a clash with other shows (and is far enough into October not to conflict with All-Irelands and other such events).

Deciding on the date and venue this quickly also allows us to promote the show in Telford next month.

So folks - put the date into your diaries!

No need for PP - it's exempted development under Section 5!!

Paraic - no need, as I know the system (as you can well imagine....). :-"

Certs are only for conveyancing purposes (or for architects to impress their clients with!!) ;)

Good one Maurice... another seat...or another Instrument Panel, perhaps?? (congrats on the gold for your seat at D4)

In terms of booking the weekend...

We will be working out a special price with the hotel, for accommodation, early in the New year, and will post up the details then.

Anyhow ...after that slight diversion into other matters...

Any suggestions on how we could improve on D4, for consideration in relation to D5 - please post them on the following thread (and NOT on this one, which is only for details for D5):-

Thanks,

OK folks...

The details for D5 have now been agreed by the Committee. Entrance prices will be the same. However, we will be slightly altering the times, so that the show will be open to the public from 10 am
till 5 pm on the Saturday (rather than 5.30pm) and from 10 am till 4 pm on the Sunday (rather than 3.30pm). This is as a result of some of the feedback received. We hope to organise the club
AGM for the Saturday at 5.15 or so, rather than the Sunday, and thereby give more time for the traders to sell their wares on the Sunday.

The flyer, which will be available for Telford, is as below:-

This flyer incorporates photos of some of the models from D4, including the best of show, all professionally taken by Ben Sollis.

Well, one joint comment/s...

Those web, facebook addresses do look too complicated. In my opinion, there's no need to paste the whole browser windows, but 'ipmsireland.com' and 'facebook.com/whateveristhere/manythingstoremeber' should be enough.

But, wouldn't be a good idea to have facebook event page - as Pat has done for this year - and use the address instead of the 'group' one? To me, that would make more sense than pointing people to the general group.

And while at it, some QR codes could be useful as well, with all those isnaps, ipads, u-phones and all the other gadgets. Free to create: http://www.qrstuff.com/ and all what one need is to run over that square with the phone.

Thanks for the comments, Filip.

I'll add the qr codes - good idea

On the fb page - the whole idea is to publicise the club, via the event, and not just the event, so I will stay with the facebook group page.
