Reminder

The subscriptions for 2016 are now due. At the last AGM, it was agreed to keep the subscriptions the same as last year.
They are as follows:-

Adult: €20
Junior / Student / OAP: €10
Family: €30

Subscriptions run for a calendar year.

Many thanks to those who have already paid their subs - that is, all 34 of you. It is very much appreciated. :>

To the rest of those reading this message, who partake of the forum:- if you have not paid up a sub for 2016, please do so as soon as possible, as we need your
support in order to run the club's activities (including this forum!).

If you are already a member of IPMS Ireland, and your sub expired on 31st December 2015, then you simply need to send on a cheque/money order/postal order,
made out to "IPMS Ireland", to me (at 22 Roseville, Naas, Co Kildare), or alternatively you can pay using the Paypal account (ipmsfourprovinces@hotmail.com)
(please send the money as a "gift"). There is no need to send on a new membership form (unless your details have changed)

If you are not a member, but would like to join, then please download the membership form from the website (you can find it here:- http://www.ipmsireland.com/Forms-Downloads/MembershipForm.pdf)
and send it on to me by post to the address provided on the form, with the relevant sub.

To encourage folks to join / renew their subscriptions by the end of February, the Committee has decided to organise a draw for all those who have joined/renewed by that date,
for the following book:-

Pioneers and Aviators – A Century of Irish Aviation.

Posted Image

This beautiful produced coffee table book, published privately by Avolon, the Aircraft Leasing company, covers pictorially the history of Irish Aviation from its earliest pioneering days to the
present. Measuring 31cm x 26cm approx, its 264 pages contain a mix of beautifully restored historical and modern colour images and spreads, from Harry Ferguson’s 1909 first flight to the
current state of aviation in Ireland in the 21st century.

The book was commissioned as the third part of a series on Irish Aviation: A two-part documentary first shown on RTE and a specially commissioned soundtrack by Micheál Ó Súilleabháin,
to accompany the documentary, complement the book. Both the documentary on DVD and a CD of the soundtrack are included in the presentation pack. The book is not available in bookshops.

Here are a couple of photos from this excellent book:-

we will be organising the draw in the first week in March, and I will inform the lucky winner by e-mail (when we can make arrangements for delivery).

Any queries regarding subs, please feel free to send me on an e-mail to my e-mail address, which is listed on the contacts page on the website:- http://www.ipmsireland.com/Contact.html.
(I'd prefer it if you didn't PM, as I can only log on to the forum when at home).

Cheers,

Philip Jones
Secretary, IPMS Ireland.

How did I miss this post , that's a HECK of a prize ! Has rare collectors item written all over it , might even potentially be more desirable than the 1/72 UBoat last year .

It's a fantastic prize. It's a shame the powers that be determined it won't be available for sale. I think that's a loss to the general public. You can see it on display in a few places but what good is that? You can't really sit down and read all 264 pages.

Last call folks. If you are coming to the Dublin Chapter meeting tomorrow, and you wish to pay the sub/renew the sub there, please let me know before midnight tonight and I will bring along a shiny 2016 membership card with the new club logo on it for you.

Important Reminder

To any forum readers who have not renewed their membership subscriptions for 2016 and who are planning on going, on the basis of IPMS Ireland membership, to Telford.

I regularly get such requests every year about this time....

I can take renewals up to October 31st, and will be able to send your cards out to you by post, to get to you in time to go to Telford.

You can renew by paying the annual sub (€20 for adults, €10 for juniors/OAP's) via paypal (to ipmsfourprovinces@hotmail.com), and sending me an e-mail (to philipprenton[at]eircom[dot]net) with a copy of the paypal receipt, or you can put a cheque, made out to IPMS Ireland, to me in the post (my address is on the membership form, which can be downloaded from the ipmsireland.com website)

Please note that, as I am busy the weekend before Telford, if you do not get renewals to me by October 31st, I will not be in a position to post out cards to you for Telford.

Folks

Many thanks to those of you who renewed their membership in the last week or so, and even more thanks to a couple of folks who joined the club for the first time.

I have just now posted off the last two membership cards for people who need them in time for Telford.

Please note that I will not be in a position to process any more membership renewals/new memberships until after Telford at this stage.

John - no problem. Bring cash on January 7th, and I'll bring the 2017 membership card.

Des - you can join up in January as a family - €30 instead of €20. If you want to do this, let me know by e-mail, and I will add your new address to the database, and make the necessary changes to the database in advance. If you are coming to the January Dublin Chapter meeting, I will bring a new membership form for you to fill in, with two new membership cards (and you can bring the cash then). If not coming, then just send me on all the details, with a scanned copy of the filled in form (which you can download from the website), and pay by Paypal, and I will post out the cards to you.

Happy Christmas to you both!

Philip, I won't be at the meeting on the 7th but I will organise for someone to drop you in my membership fee that day. If that's ok?

I don't know if I'll be able to make any of the meetings at the start of the year (2017). Could I post you my renewal fee?

Robert - that's no problem at all. Send on a cheque to me, made out to IPMS Ireland to the address on the membership form (which you can see on the website), or you can pay by Paypal - see post no. 9 above for details. Once I get the confirmation, I will be happy to send you out your card by post.

(You are aware that some of the Dublin Chapter meetings coming up will be from 3.30 to 5 pm instead of the usual 11 to 1 pm on Saturdays? - see the Dublin Chapter meetings thread.)

Cheers,

Philip
