Just curious how many of us suffer from the "i cant finish 1 before starting another 1" syndrome.god knows i suffer badly from it,ha ha.

I plead guilty to that one, I have some kits on the 'shelf of doom' for amounts of time that can be measured in decades   :-"
I am just too weak when tempted by the next wonder kit from Airfix/Revell/Tamiya(or whoever) or get bored with somthing and sideline it with every intention of getting back to it as some stage(yeah, right!)

Yep - me too.

It's all about mojo, enthusiasm for what's new...and of course pure laziness (that's me anyway)

Oh yeah, definitely. There is the shelf of doom but there are also about 4 active (sort of) builds on the bench or within reach. Haven't actually finished anything yet this year

Heil Mickey!
It's about fun, one builds what one feels like. No such a thing I have to finish this one, before I can start another one.

My current projects in various stages of completion, from top of my head, which might not be precise and I could have missed some, are:
Kubelwagen workshop
Eggocopter
Ki-45
Ki-51
Anson Mk.I - 2 of those
Vampire T.55
He-219
Learjet
Tempest
StuG IIIC - Afrika Korps
Hummel
Nashorn
Aviatik Berg D.I
Albatros D.I

Ha, I'm the opposite, one at a time only for me. Since I got back into the Hobby about 5 years ago, there's only been one kit that I didn't finish (which I hope to finish as part of the Spitfire GB) and apart from that I've only had one at a time.

I can see the appeal of starting something new when hitting a wall with a build, but I think I just prefer focusing on one build and figuring out the steps/solutions to issues in my head as I build. I've had builds where when I've finished I've found myself thinking 'right, what's next to do on the model?' and then remembering that it's already finished!

There's much to be said for that approach Jason and I think I'll have to start implementing it. I'm like the previous posters in this thread with numerous kits at various stages - 6 on the go that I can remember and the Spitfire(s) for the current Group Build to be added
One or two were started years ago and put aside. That said, having seen some of the 'in progress' listings above I don't feel nearly as bad :D .
Completed group builds:

What-If 2017

Kits In Progress:

Revell 1/35 BTR-70
Dragon 1/72 T-34/76 Mod. 1942
Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XII
Revell 1/72 BV-222

Have no fear, having multiple projects on the go is entirely the norm and quiet acceptable . Why would you want to finish anything,? that would mean you can only buy what you build and that means only 6 kits a year. How boring is that? God . If the modelling industry was based in the number of kits built rather than kit bought there would be no hobby.
In fact it is your solemn duty to buy lots of stuff, half build it and toss it aside when the next thing comes along.
If we did not have shelf of doom subjects what the hell would we do at Xmas for the Kuta builds?
Take no notice of these sensible types they are killing the hobby :bat: . Long live waste and whim. These make our hobby a hobby as opposed to an unpaid job. :dev:

I wish I had more room on the bench- about 2 or 3 builds max is about all I can fit. Plus, if I'm painting, I end up with the 'ever diminishing space' effect where the paint bottles keep taking up more and more space and I'm left with an ever smaller area to actually work on stuff. The shelf of shame/doom is kind of a must have! I do like to finish one thing before beginning another but sometimes that shiny new kit in the stash is just too hard to resist!
