After hearing a lot of talk at model shows/events I'm now flustered..are decals pronounced deekals or deckals( phonetically spelt obviously) I personally say deekals but am never sure if I'm right or not! |

I've heard both, but a quick look online shows that while Decal is pronounced both ways (as you've said), its origin is the French word décalcomanie, which is pronounced 'deekalkomanie', not 'deckalkomanie'. So I'd go with 'deekals'! ![]() See here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decal J. |

WOW French, that's posh! Why not just call them transfers and solve the problem? Cheers Joe M |

Avoid all confusion by applying an all encompassing generic phrase such as " them coloured yokes" |
