Gone West

My modelling time has increased hugely but the reason is very sad.
My modelling buddy, critic, pain in the A has unfortunately gone for the long sleep. He was 21.5 in real years (about 110-120 in cat years). He was blind for the last 18 months or so but could still find his way out the door and down the back garden. Granted he may not always have found his way exactly back to the door but would normally make it back within a yard or so. A quick snap of the fingers and he was in.
We have had a number of mostly indoor pet cats but allowed out anytime but this guy took the biscuit as well as chicken, steak, pork, mince. Loved a BBQ as he knew there would always be something for him on it. A nice dollop of cream never went amiss.
A great cuddler. It seemed that every night I took out the modelling gear and set up a certain 'Puddy Cat' thought it was a good time to jump onto my lap, circle around once or twice and then decide it was time for a good sleep. To be honest I never could remove him so the modelling was left for another night while he and I decided it was couch time and telly time.
Recently time just caught up on him and we had to make a very hard decision  So as WW1 pilots used the saying Poor old ..... has gone west to describe the death of one of their fiends I thought this was a good way to describe the demise of one Tommi Bho.

Come on I'm ready, what's keeping you?

Not impressed, show me when its finished!

Sorry guys I know I am being maudlin. Keep on thinking that I see him out of the corner of my eye even though I buried him in is favourite lying in the sun spot in the garden.

Really sorry about this but I just wanted to get this out of my system.

Cheers

I agree with al your thoughts. My poor Muffin died a while ago, we have had him since my boys were very young, and his death devastated us all. But last Christmas my son Simon is a very good painter graduating Ba in Fine Art, presented us with a Christmas present, a lovely painting of our Muffin who now resised in sitting room majestically keeping an eye on us.

Heil Mickey!
Well, as they say, gone, but not forgotten...

We have 2 cats buried under our flower bed. They are resting under the places they used to sit while around. One died on my lap - 16yrs old Donkey, one was found on the road, just a few yards away from our house by my wife on her morning walk - 4yrs old Spudnik.
Banjo has disappeared last Summer... and for the last 3 years, we are stuck with Zsa-Zsa.

So, I know how you feel, Joe.

Feeling for you Joe. I heard much of your beloved. Lived a good life, and a long one (in feline terms). Our own little Dusty died two years ago (on Good Friday) and is buried in the garden with stones in the shape of a "D".

Our sympathies.

Sad news Joe. Difficult to get used to that empty spot on your lap.

Hi Joe,

I can only add my condolences, as someone who has had cats or dogs nearly all his life, I know what it's like to lose a beloved companion. Mind yourself...

I think like everyone losing a beloved pet is harder than losing anyone else. Sorry for the loss Joe, must be really hard especially after so long, he certainly had a long life.

It's always sad losing pet. They are so much more than a pet. A companion. A best friend. I had to make a tough decision with one of my dogs 18 months ago and it still pains me. My sympathies to you and yours Joe.
