Folks

just got an alert about this (I have a number of alerts for e-bay, including one for kits of IAC aircraft, stored on my system)

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/De-Havilland-Dove-MK8-Irish-AC-1-72-Resin-OmegaModel-Kit-/112198367205?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:IE:3160

You gotta wonder.....€83...plus postage. !!!

I am aware that some of the McLoughlins's Direct prices are competitive (and i have personally bought quite a few kits from the owner), so I would be happy to encourage him in his efforts to set up a model shop there.

But at this price.

I mean - REALLY???

Didn't Alan make this one a couple of years back into a wonderful representation of the real thing? If so, I do hope he didn't have to pay this much for the kit.

Philip

PS - I would encourage folks to look at the stock on his e-bay site - many other kits are a LOT cheaper - indeed some cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere. And if we are ordering kits, it is surely better to support an Irish retailer rather than one over the Irish Sea, where possible. It is just the cost of this resin kit that got me thinking.....

I believe MCL direct prices for on site customers included ( a LOT?!) of haggling potential as at the very least the cost of post was factored in .NOW in last month or two the prices of many items on the site have dropped and you pay the postage extra .Maybe this one hasn't been updated .Their prices are variable in value alright .It IS nice to have a stockist of kits you might only see at the makers stand at Telford .

Bargain addition for the man cave/den/workshop! :) :)
.....but I would like to be a fly on the wall when some one tries to smuggle a MB10 Tornado bang seat past the other half by stuffing it up their jumper! :bat:
