And we're off - I've opened the box at at least Really is a boat with wings, the fuselage length is greater than the wingspan (63.4 cms vs. 50.3 cms). As I've subsequently discovered, the wingspan is greater than the length . In my defense, Revell made a mistake on their box cover dimensions graphic.

Some prep work done on this monster. Mainly parts clean up and checking the fit of main components (shown separately in picture). Sprue with internals etc also shown. This is an older photo - I've detached a lot of the larger parts and started work on them: A complicated build in store as the main wing will need a spar run through it - the kit 'plugs' (visible at the end of the wing components above) will probably cause the wings sag over time unless braced somehow . The nose will also need weight added to prevent undue tailsit.Oh well, providing I cut down on luxuries like eating, sleeping etc I should meet the deadline |

That is a huge amount of plastic for a 1/72 plane, will be fascinating to see it come together. (BTW pictures are fine for me) |

Bit of work done on the fuselage and nose interior in preparation for a primer coat. Parts added at the 4 machine gun stations and 2 doors installed. Filler (white) also used to deal with prominent ejector pin marks. |

Main component interiors primed. I'll be doing the main wing as almost a separate build/kit. I used 'Ultimate Primer' self levelling surface primer (bottle at top left) - very pleased with the results. |

Fuselage interior (port) painted. Starboard has a key coat applied. Most of this won't be visible on the finished model anyway .That's enough for tonight methinks - I forgot how offensive enamels and thinners are to the nose , even with a fume extractor. I'll finish this bit along with the nose interior and internal bulkheads tomorrow.

Other half of fuselage with nose interior sides and underside of flightdeck, etc. I didn't get time to do those bulkheads. |
