Hi Guys i have decided to build this for the group build. The Photo Etch was in the kit, bought 2nd hand and i got the canopy masks from Eduard.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Got a good start on it this morning and really enjoyed using the Photo Etch on the kit even if it did slow my speed of building down. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Just reading about the Seiran earlier today, apparently in training using the floats, only a smaller bomb could be carried, but on a combat mission at that stage of the war, the plane would be launched off the submarine mother ship without the floats as it was expected to be a one way mission, and it could carry the bigger bomb without the floats. Also they figured by not fitting the floats at the time of launch it saved considerable time allowing the submarine to spent less time on the surface launching its three Seirans. The floats were only used in training or when ferrying the aircraft allowing it to be recovered, but otherwise it was a one way mission. |

Must have some kind of boosted launch rail (?) I suppose if you can chuck a Hurricane of a merchant ship it’s not unlikely

It does indeed, it was launched off the catapult ramp on the front of the submarine on a trolley (which you can see both on the box art), hence how it could be launched with or without the floats |
