What a gent - he even included spare decals with the kit.

Can't believe how big this plane was....a real brute. Looks like a nice mix of engraved and raised detail.

You can read more about the history of Wild Weasel Ops here.

Good luck with your builds.

Cheers,
Dermot

Is it true that if you do the camo right the two separate greens can barely be told apart?

So finally time to get cracking on this one.

I knew the F-105 was a big piece of heavy metal but it's only when you compare it to something else in scale that you get the picture; here's the fuselage parts next to a same scale F-14A. Yowsa!

I'm going to follow the example set by Gerry/Jason and others of building and finishing the ordinance first and then starting on the kit proper. :-"

Ok that's big the Tomcat is a pretty big ship. My Deperdussin is 1:32 and it's less than 8 inches :) Actually now that I think of it notwithstanding the Arado everything I've built of late is no more than 6 inches. Future builds are getting bigger, the Mig, the DH 16 will be huge and my final plan for the Sci Fi build will be (relatively) enormous :). in comparison.

Nice one Dermot, she's a beast! As well as the ordinance, try doing the undercarriage as well. It makes it a slow start to the build, but is worth it in the end! :)

Finally some progress.
The cockpit is done and added to the fuselage. This also includes a wing spar piece to ensure the wings attach at the right angle. For an old kit, it's really nicely engineered.

So after a couple of rounds of filling and sanding, finally got some primer on the big girl...

I won't be done in time - i blame the World Cup. And those warm summer evenings, sitting outside with a cold beverage... :-"

Anyhow, will keep going with it and well done to all those who got finished.

Thanks for looking.
