Proposal: Wolves in sheeps Clothing - No camouflage allowed; Military types in colourful paint jobs

My proposal would be to build any military type (I'm thinking mostly aircraft, but not necessarily) but in a colour scheme that has almost no camouflage. E.g. Late war trainer schemes, Sopwiths 1000th pup, Roll out schemes F14 and F18 here, prototypes or one offs/civillian schemes, aeronbatic teams, or events Tiger Meet here, Examples below. (now that I think of it a lot of the German WWI Jasta and late war allied schemes would also qualify)

I've been thinking about this for a while and although I keep seeing these kind of schemes I almost never end up actually making them. This would be a very good excuse to add some colour to the aircraft shelf.

So to summarize, military types, no green, brown or grey :)

It would fit my criteria (since I did sneak a 209 in there :) ) But I'd let the powers that be decide it. BTW nice colourscheme

Since it is your suggestion, if it is chosen, you ARE "the powers that be"!!!

(Did nobody tell you that the proposer of a group build gets to be the group build leader??)šŸ˜„

If this is a proposal it has my vote.
I have a bright green helicopter from a display team that would fall right into this.

And you're in the next poll Marklo, nice one.

Will set up the poll this weekend and let everyone know. If it was successful, the start date would be around March next year...

I was thinking more Homer (my role model in all things :) , although I'm probably more Dilbert (possibly Wally) in real life :) )

Three excellent role models there! :)

Just thinking, the Tiger Meet F-16 I have is a fairly basic one, only the tail is a tiger scheme and the rest is just the usual three tone grey. So would that still qualify?

Technically, I do have an actual Wolf in Sheep's clothing scheme to do, the Ju-52 from Where Eagles Dare. It's the winter camo, so it doesn't fit your description of military types in colourful, non-camo, schemes, but from the German's point of view in the movie, it's literally the enemy, but in their own colours... :)

When thinking Tiger meet I'm going more this:-

Than this.

For the Ju52 the likes of a Lufthansa would qualify anything with camo wouldn't (Harsh or what :) ).

I suppose the overall aim would be to make a colorful and somewhat eclectic display if the build were ever placed on the same display table.

I completely agree with you, the point is a familiar military subject in an unfamiliar colourful scheme!

As it happens, my F-16 is firmly in the latter category, with only the tail detailed (in fact, I had to check to see if it was the exact same subject, though it's not). So while I still endorse this idea, I won't be using that kit in the GB, if it's successful.

Thanks...
