Sorry Pat/guys - been on holidays for the past while, so just getting back to the flow this last day or so. Was in north-west Donegal (with in-laws) up till last Friday. No coverage up there!

Not looking great for the 17th at the Exchange, as there is a big event there for the full weekend. I will check with the volunteers tomorrow and see what hope there is for us.

Sat 24th isn't a runner, as we are up at the Ulster Aviation Society Open Day at Long Kesh, where we have two tables booked for a club display. Like to come??? Two cars (at least) are going, so if anyone is interested, please let me know. Pick up in Dublin city centre at about 7.30 am, back by teatime. I have two spare spaces, and Simon Nolan can manage three, plus models for the display. Some of us went up there last year as visitors, and it was a very good day out......

The following weekend is "Salute!", where we have been offered a table also. In Swords for both days. I did send an e-mail to most of the club members, but only got two replies so far. While mainly for armour heads, figures and planes are also welcome on the display. I will be going and I hope that others are also interested. Again, we have been offered a table. Please let me know if you are interested.

Both are good opportunities for promoting D2, and also a great chance to meet up......

I've sent you an email re salute which I can attend with a some tanks and dios. Hope I'm not too late to make the list. I won't make it to Belfast

I'll be dissapointed if there is no monthly meeting  - to me they are the reason I joined the IPMS - not everyone will get to Swords or Belfast

No problem Pat - fully understood re the Dublin Chapter meetings. I totally agree - having a monthly meeting makes it all worthwhile....

Many thanks for the e-mail. I will reply to that in a mo. Great that you can attend there in Swords....

On the Dublin meets - we are in the hands of our hosts in the Exchange - you may have seen the article in the Irish Times last week re their own troubles. I have requested a booking for the 17th, even though there is a big thing scheduled for that day - hopefully the smaller room is free.

As you know, we are looking at some possible alternative, if they are evicted by the Corpo. Hopefully this will not happen.....

Folks,

Sorry to say that there is no chance of a meeting in the Exchange next Saturday, the 17th. It is full and they cannot accommodate us. Some thing about zines, apparently....

They say they can manage us on the 24th, but quite a few of us will be up in Long Kesh that day. Do you want me to book a meet for the 24th notwithstanding, or will be we just meet this coming Saturday at 12 in the Porterhouse for a drink and a chat?

Let me know what you would like.

I will send on an e-mail to the regulars this evening when I get home from work to get their views, as not everyone is on the forum on a daily basis.......

As I am planning to be up north on the 24th, I will not be able to make the exchange on that Saturday.
re this Saturday I will not be able to make the Porterhouse as alternate plans have been made.

I make that four so far that want a meet on the 24th. Anyone else??

If there is more interest, I'll arrange the booking for the 24th on Monday.

Philip

Oh yes - see those of you who can make it today (Saturday 17th) in the Porterhouse at noon.

Pity you didn't make it, Pat. Select group of Don, Paul and myself came to the Porterhouse and tucked into seafood chowdah and/or cocktail sausages, while talking modelling, photography (and a lot more).

'Twas a good day.
