Let me hasten to add that there's no truth in the rumour that Pat's Ork is a self likeness!!!!! Who ever started it should be immediately send to the 'Dark Side'.
O.K. I'm on the way!
Nice one Pat.

Defo a Meteor, the Revell mk.IV with oob markings built by Graham, there is a better shot of
it on the preceding page(15) as posted by Philip/Prenton if you are interested.

Yep, that's my Meteor. I am actually working on a Vampire at the moment. It's close to being finished but I'm not sure it will be complete in time for next weeks meeting.

Well......

We tried out the later time, and most seemed to like it. So we will be going for a similar time - that is, 3 pm till 5 pm, at our next meeting. Once it is booked, I will of course put up notice of it here, and on our fb page.

14 modellers turned up yesterday, despite the absolutely AWFUL weather.

Lots of chats about how D2 - the IPMS Ireland Nationals - went, with some useful suggestions for those Committee members present (Gerry, Pat, Joe and myself). Various plans were also made for Telford, which is upcoming very soon.

A smaller crop of models than is usual - but that is easily understood given that few, if any, of us have had any time since a fortnight ago at D2 to do too much modelling. Notwithstanding, there were a couple of nice targets - a truck and an armoured car - that I missed photographing. There was also this Sci-fi WIP Star Wars item from Vincent:-

Posted Image

While Graham brought along a Vampire in somewhat different colours to those that we are used to - Chilean Airforce, as far as I recall.

Posted Image

Joe brought along some WW1 beauties he is working on, as well as giving an (impromptu) master class in WW1 references:-

Posted Image

Posted Image

I think we can expect to see a lot of Fokkers in the new year!

Philip

That is indeed a Chilean Airforce Vampire in their desert camouflage scheme. I like that very much, nice work Graham. :>

For those that don't know, and I think the other Sean may have already mentioned this, parking is no longer free at Collins Barracks.

General shot...

Dermot

Thanks, Dermot

You managed (as always) to pick up the ones I missed (and have a much better resolution on your camera, to boot).

That last shot really captures what happens at some of the Dublin Chapter meetings - a couple of discussions involving groups of 3 or 4 members, and a larger number of folks sitting around the table and hunched over a particular model or models....

In this particular one, I do know that some of us were taking stock of D2, and looking forward to 2014...

I suspect that the next meeting - a week after Telford - will be somewhat similar (though probably focused on some purchases at SMW, rather than D2)

However, we will be seeking to organise some talks and/or demos for the Chapter meetings once the new year comes in...Joe has already "volunteered" to reprise his rigging demo, to coincide with a certain group build..... ;)

Watch this space.......

Philip
