Thanks a lot for today's meeting, it was good to be back after 9 months. Great to see some old faces and some new ones, and I really enjoyed Pat's demo on dioramas.

As I hoped, talking about plastic got me itching to do a bit of work, so I managed to get an hour at the bench tonight and did some filling / sanding on my IL-2 which was been patiently waiting for me since last June...

Havent cut plastic since last June !?I thought I was an irregular modelller(4 months working on a 1/72 Me109)!That nearly qualifies as a 'comeback'!

Hi Guys,
Great meeting today and as Jason said Pat's demo on dioramas was great. We also has a good turn of members and a lot of models, some complete others in various stages of work in progress. I have a few photos from today. I will not try and identify all the models and their 'owners'.
This was Marks Airfix Mig 15 or was it a 17?

Vincent's pair of Hawker Hurricanes, one is the old Airfix kit (on the right hand side0 the other is the new Airfix kit.

Nice... those Barry's models are, actually, Ken's, if those are the same as posted here on the forum.

Great meeting with lots on show. The partially built 4x4 in Joe's photos is my Revell Dingo 2 as used currently by the German army in Afganistan.

Thanks Pat for a great demo: it's encouraged me to try my first dio.

I just want to add that though I'll never switch from diorams and tanks to wingy things I'm more and more in awe of the planes that show up every month. The Mount Fuji decals on Ken's jet were jaw droppingly awesome as was Joe's lozenge pattern on his 144th scale Albatros.
I better get my ass in gear and finish my entry for the Sticks and strings campaign

Sorry I had to miss it. It looks like a really good meeting, with Pat's talk and the show of work in progress. Unfortunately I too am suffering from the dreaded Man Flu.

Thank you Pat, I will convert you to fast moving wingy things and maybe an airliner. ;)

I though Pat talk was very good. Picked up a couple of things. I might see if I can mix it in with a aircraft build.

Michael - we are seeing about a booking in May, and I will post up the date when it is booked. But we will be around at the IMSS show in the Hilton Hotel in Dublin (beside the Grand Canal) on the weekend of the 17th/18th of May in any event, so could meet up with you then. I do know that the venue is not free on the 24th.

The next three dates for the meetings of the Dublin Chapter are now finalised (many thanks to Pat for making the arrangements).

They are:-

May 31st

June 21st

and July 26th.

In all cases the venue remains at the Culture Box, and the times are 11 am till 1 pm. Once we have demos lined up for the dates, I will post up the details, but for now, keep the dates in your diaries, lads!
