Well - one of the advantages of a bank holiday weekend is to give time to wrestle with photobucket and to put up photos of the last Dublin Chapter meeting....

As mentioned above, Sean (35th scale) Mullarkey gave us a fascinating demo on weathering and washes. Here are some of the shots:-

And those in attendance were all gathered around, and listened intently (and asked some pertinent questions too).

Many thanks, Sean :>

Apart from Sean's demo, there was the usual assemblage of kits, in boxes, as WIP's and finished articles.

Unfortunately, I was so taken with Sean's demo and selling club shirts that I missed out on photographing Ken's trio of finished civil
aircraft, and his WIP of an Aer Turas aircraft that he says he hopes to finish in time for Telford. You can see these, together with his little
spitfire and his Japanese "Mt Fuji" decalled jet, in Pat's photo above. I also missed Ronan's WIP of a Corsair jet, which you can also see in Pat's photo.

Other exhibits included these:-

There was this group of soldiers in action on a base

Posted Image

You might not realise how small that is, until you see a coin for scale:-

Posted Image

Then there was this rather large Buffalo....

Posted Image

Posted Image

It will be getting green tinted windows soon - (it will, Sean, I promise!)

And where would we be without another Orc creation from Pat:-

Posted Image

Apparently this is part of a family of such Orcs, or a group (should we say a HORDE?)

Then there were some targets...

Posted Image

Posted Image

(Jack's was up on Sean's demo table getting some weathering..)

and a new kit that Joe intends to make

Posted Image

(not a stick or string in sight.....)

And finally, this beautiful Bf 109 F that Gerry has been working on over the summer. (I wish I had taken more photos of this, it really is exquisite...)

Some great stuff there, lads. :>

Actually Joe had a nice unbuilt plane kit which featured lots of string ( not sure about sticks , it may have been a WW1 monoplane , I really should remember ...French (?) lots of etch and two white metal engines ...

I'm glad people enjoyed the demo even if it felt a little rushed....I was very surprised afterwards to disciver I'd been demoing for 30 minutes. It felt like only 5 or 10 minutes!

It was great Sean and it it was the perfect length. We should try to have one every month. Make a list of what people want to see at the next meeting maybe

I'm no aeronautical engineer but that yoke looks as if it's missing at least 2-4 sticks !!!

My tiny Panzer I in 1/72 looks far smarter on the shelf post weathering , thanks Sean .

I also missed Ronan's WIP of a Corsair jet, which you can also see in Pat's photo.

It was great to finally get to a meeting! Really enjoyed the demo.

The A-7 is coming along nicely, I'm hoping to get a primer coat on it tonight and I got the correct shade of grey (a Mr Hobby colour) today in the post so I hope to have it done or at least nearly done in time for the next meeting.
