Guys,

The dates for the Dublin Chapter meetings for the second half of the year have now been confirmed. They are as follows:-

Saturday July 16th (11 am till 1 pm)

Saturday August 20th (11 am till 1 pm)

Saturday September 17th (11 am till 1 pm)

Saturday November 26th (11 am till 1 pm)

Saturday December 10th (11 am till 1 pm)

The eagle eyed among you will notice that there is no meeting scheduled for October. That is because D5 is happening the week before our normal time and most of us will be exhausted.....

We have also gone for a later than usual meeting date in November, the fourth Saturday of the month, because Telford is on during the second weekend of the month (and many of us will need time to recover...or at least our wallets will... :-" )

In all cases, the venue is The Lab, in Foley Street.

Many thanks to Pat (Parkadge) for doing the bookings. :>

Philip

As noted previously, the next Dublin Chapter meeting is coming up in two days' time, on Saturday 21st May, where we will be having our kitswop. The June meeting will be on Saturday June 18th.

Thanks for the photos of the models on display, Graham.

I will just add a couple of additional crowd shots, which show some of the selection of kits that folks had brought along to sell.

I won't be able to make it to the meeting tomorrow*. Can someone please bring a camera, take photos and put them up here after the meeting.

Thanks,

Philip

*I will be having a stall at the local Naas parish summer fair, where I will be selling some of my excess stash (mostly modern Airfix kits that I picked up in the various Aldi sales etc,) and also handing out leaflets for D5. If anyone wants to come along to the event during the day (it runs from 10.30 am till 5.30 pm), we are on the Main street of Naas, almost directly opposite the Town Hall. It is called the St. David's Church Family Fun day...there are also lots of things for kids, outdoor barbeque , music etc etc)

Maybe put up list of sale items and prices ? I'm fairly sure there are a few people round here who can't resist a bargain

EDIT Had to update this post Philip .Feeling very emotionally conflicted by all this .Finding cheap kits at car boot sales /fetes etc is one of life's sweet pleasures but when the local IPMS secretary says he won't be attending latest meet as he's off selling those kits to the general public elsewhere?!How many kits roughly are for sale ?Can you at least reassure me you won't be selling new mould 1/72 Emils for €1-€3 ???!!!

John

Kinda duty calls, as I am part of the parish, so have to be there. My wife and I have a joint "craft" stall - I will be selling kits, and she will be selling woolen items, such as beanie hats, children's jumpers etc.

All of the kits I am selling are kits of which I have a multiple or multiples......

Don't worry - no new mould 1/72nd E-mils for €1 or €2.....my prices aren't daft!!

The following is what I will be selling:-

Testors Easybuilder Bf 109 €2
Aeroplast Bf 109B €6 (kit fairly rough, decals are SCW, which was why I bought the kit originally, but since then have got lots of SCW decals, so can part with it)
Microwings Revell Bf 109E (04916) €2
ICM Bf 109 E-7 Trop (72133) €8
Airfix Hs 126 (03028) €7
Airfix Bf 109 G-6 (A02029A) €5

and the following are all Airfix "starter sets" with glue, brush and paints:-

Fw 190D (010644) €6
Hurricane Mk 1 (A55111) €6
Spitfire Mk 1a (A55100) €6
Mustang IV (A55107) €6
Curtiss Tomahawk (A55101) €6

Naturally, all are 1/72nd (except the microwings kit, which is 1/144)

If you - or indeed anyone else reading this - wants to buy anything from the above, let me know before 9.15 tomorrow morning and I will reserve it for you and sell it to you at the same price at the next Dublin Chapter meeting that I get along to (which will probably be in August, as we are on holidays in Normandy in July).

Philip

PS... Pat - yes, I understand that the clergyman has organised a screen for the match....but it's not a BIG screen, more a standard sized telly screen.
