Thanks lads...

And thanks to everyone for their patience and interest. When I called it Basic Weathering, I didn't mean that I find it basic, it was more that other modellers would! Hope it was of interest to people, and my apologies for talking so fast. I do that when I'm nervous, and it's one thing standing up in front of a group of people, but it's even more when you're talking about modelling to a group of people you consider to be better modellers than yourself!

So thanks for the kind words, and thanks to everyone for their input, questions and advice, I found it quite informative myself!

I realise that two fuselage halves weren't the easiest things to see, so I will put up some pics to show the effects of the different washes I used.

Thanks again...

J.

Thanks Jason I enjoyed it very much- you have very good good presentation skills (Though if you have to make a presentation professionally you shouldn't swear quite so much :D )

As you said;- different techniques for armour but I'll use them on my night fighter and maybe for a more restrained finish for a peacetime tank :)

Good meeting today and agreee with the others; great demo Jason. As a brush painter myself, it was really helpful to see this up close. I think everyone got something from it and I picked up heaps of tips.

Some random pictures from today - sorry for the poor quality and must get advice from the official photographer!

First some nightfighters of course! Ken's Hurri

Posted Image

Jason's Mosquito (sorry, never got a pic of the 110)

Posted Image

My 'little Wurger'

Posted Image

Vincent's pair of Spitfires - Academy and AZ I think..

Posted Image

And his bonkers Luft'46 fighter

Posted Image

Paul's Irish Air Corps pair of a Vampire and PC9..lovely duo

Posted Image

Also from Paul, a Long Range Desert Group jeep..

Posted Image

Sean's cracking jeep too...but in 1/76

Posted Image

And not one you see often - a B2 Stealth bomber that Barry picked up courtesy of Vincent...it was that big, I never got around to photographing the other kits!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your modelling.

Sorry I missed another one - been rather hectic for a while now, but I will endeavour to make February. I'm a bit cheesed off at missing out on all of the demo's too because they've sounded very interesting.

Never mind - at least the pics are good.

Hi Philip,
Will their be an agenda? Guess what, this is my agenda. How do people feel about this matter, personally I think that its important that we have a structure to the meetings. Should we open a seperate "thread" to discuss this?

I do like a bit of structure meself

Isn't there going to be a demo of how to make plaster bases?

Plus the anyone who has completed a nightfighter by then will be bringing them.

Thanks for the reminder, Pat.

I'll give Mark a shout and see if he is available for the demo, as promised.

Looks like we will have a module on the subject of nightfighters - that is, if we can all get them finished by then!

On the agenda - yes, we can / should organise things in a more structured manner, while still leaving people time to have a free-form natter!

But I don't want it to be too formal - the essence of the Dublin meets is that we can come together and get away from any of the rules police, and other such things.

Anyhow, Joe, this is something we can discuss at the meeting itself - preferably not on the public forum.

Wheee. I'll actually make this one. If Mark can't do the base demo I can bring along some resin bits and do bit relating to those if anyone is interested.

My fiance calls it my 'show and tell' day anyway.....she thinks I'm just a big kid really.

Glad you can make it.

Why not bring the resin anyhow? (Not sure yet if Mark is coming.)

Andy

Just got word from Mark - he cannot do his bases demo this month, so I'd be most grateful if you would do the resin demo on Saturday.

Thanks,

Philip
