Simple yes or no will do, send me a text, give me a ring, send email... I'll have to let them know on Monday morning, so it can't wait til next meeting in February. Thanks

Next regular meeting of Mid-West Branch of IPMs Ireland is scheduled on Saturday the 5th of March, usual time around 2PM and usual venue - Atlantic Airventure and Museum Shannon.

It's the last meeting before our departure to Go Modelling in Vienna, so we have quite a few details to sort out in regard to this trip, as well as some Branch business to go through and to do the usual bit of modelling and chatting about plastic and all those general things of life and this year's Modelling Munster competition...
So pretty busy few hours ahead

Everybody is welcome, members of IPMS or not, we are not fussy in this regard. Hope to see you all there

Well, we have not only made it there, but we've made it back as well...

If anyone is wondering what exactly I am talking about, then the answer is simple: Go Modelling in Vienna, of course. What a weekend! Start at 1 o'clock on Friday morning and non-stop action till our arrival back to Limerick at 6PM on Monday. I think, that all of those, who made the effort and travelled to Austrian capital have had a blast.
The traditional venue for this yearly event is incredible and the reception and hospitality we have received from all in IPMS Austria was simply beyond description and that freezing northerly wind simply couldn't stop our city and FlAK tower tours on Friday and Sunday. But jeeeeez were we cold :zip:

Only handful of miscellaneous photos for now:

The venue of the show - Arsenal, Austrian Military Museum:

I thought that it might be quicker to create FB album especially for the Go Modelling photos, then dragging those via Photobucket, so if you are into that sort of things, link to this album is only one click away

I hope that all participants of Vienna trip are defrosted and regenerated by now, because it's business as usual:

Next regular meeting of Mid-West Branch of IPMS Ireland will take place this Saturday, 2nd of April, the usual venue, Atlantic Airventure Centre and Museum Shannon and the usual time, 2PM-ish.

Apart from the usual bit of modelling, we should reflect on our mission to Austria, look at what needs to be done for this year's Modelling Munster show and following conversation from the last meeting, I might do very brief Fokker of the Great War anthology. No promises here :-"

Scrolling through the web recently and found some more - and more professionally done - photos from Go Modelling in Vienna on Modellversium. Our small band might not score any awards over the weekend, but if you look at the photos, especially part 3, we have made quite an impact:

Very impressive. Great location and a wealth of imaginative models on display. If there is a trend in modelling I would say people are not just finishing to a fantastic standard but the ideas going into the composition and the display of their work is really exciting.

Next regular meeting of Mid-West Branch of IPMS Ireland is scheduled on Saturday 7th of May, the same location as usual - Atlantic Airventure Centre and Museum in Shannon and the same kick-off time around 2PM-ish.

I think, that there's IMSS gig on that weekend in Big Smoke and we can see if there'll be any possibility and interest to go up for a few hours on Sunday the 8th. Not an easy venue to get to and I haven't heard of anyone connected to Modelling Munster initiative putting their models into the competition, so I would leave this one open and we'll play by ear.

Hope to see you there

sorry guys that I missed yesterday, hung around a little while but had to push off as I was on lunch duty.
Hope to catch up next month, shouldn't be too hectic and show you progress on the Lancaster.

We had shorter meeting this month, due to expected post match traffic heading away from Thomond Park. Nonetheless, the shorter the meeting was, the busier it has been. We didn't get too much of a chance to do the usual modelling, but we've got to talk a lot about modelling, we have made a head start on making action plans for the autumn IPMS IRL Nats, we have pinned down date for our very own Modelling Munster regional scale model show, we have started talking seriously about our 2017 field trip abroad and we have squeezed the usual coffee/tea and bisquits time in between it all as well.

The man of the hour was Lindsay with his 1 meter long cigar tube, or was it submarine?

Note: we are seriously considering trip to Malta 'Nationals' in mid February of 2017, so if anyone is interested to be part of this expedition, please get in touch with me via PM.
