Well done all .That camera angle makes that A10 look HUGE compared with Alan . Surely it can't be bigger than 1/32 ?

...and after weekend long shenanigans in the Big Smoke, Mid-West Branch business commence as per usual practice. Next regular meeting will be on this Saturday, 3rd of October, usual 2PM-ish at Atlantic Airventure Centre and Museum in Shannon.

I am sure that we'll have a lot of things to talk about as well as to do another bit of work on our branch kit builds. I am not quite sure, though, what we should be doing or what we've planned to do this time, nonetheless we'll do it anyway :D I think, that we were talking about seatbelts and cockpit weathering.

Hope to see you all there :>

Hot from the press... Alan is checking out his possible next project - a slightly customised Gulfstream:

I am sure, that he'll fill us in on this unusual Shannon Airport guest on Saturday meeting :>

That is beyond my knowledge, Brian... I will ask Alan tomorrow, after all he's the one inside that truck, so he should know a bit more

A quick search threw up that this is conversion based on Gulfstream G-550. Some more info here.

Singapore paid a billion for four of these "conversions "

"The AEW system has six multi-purpose, Windows-based, operator stations with 24in colour monitors that are installed in the rear half of the main cabin. The forward section of the main cabin behind the cockpit accommodates the electronics."

6 aul Windows PCs and 24 inch monitors don't come cheap these days !Theyd have done better in PC World !

Thanks for the information, looks like alot of functionality packed into one platform. And yes it seems rather expensive for a glorified Nintendo on wings. :P

Anyone interested in building one Broplan have a kit of it.

ELINT group build anyone ? :dev:

Next regular meeting of MId-West Branch should be on on Saturday 7th of November, but, because there's Scale Model World show in Telford, the attendance might be very limited on that day. Personally, even though, I am not going across, I will be caught in work chasing deadline, so should we meet the following weekend, on Saturday 14th?

Any suggestions?

Only a quick reminder of Mid-West Branch forthcoming meeting this Saturday. Details are as per posts above ^

I am not sure, if I'll make it myself, still chasing the Sunday deadline, but I am hoping that all will be good and that I'll see you all there.

It's hard to believe, that not only yet another month is gone, but the whole year of 2015 went down the drain so fast as well...

So, the last meeting of Mid-West Branch of IPMS Ireland of this year, will take place on, the usual 1st Saturday of each month, 5th of December, 2PM-ish, at Atlantic Airventure Centre and Museum in Shannon.

Not too many members were able to make it last month, so it would be nice to see you all, your modelling projects in the making, your finished or half finished projects and to hear plans for the upcoming year.

Hope to see you all there

The year is over and it's time to start thinking about 2016. It looks like that it will be a very exciting year for Mid-West Branch and Modelling Munster alike, but nothing will be revealed until the time is right.

For now, one quick note about our 1st meeting of 2016:

It will be on the 2nd Saturday of January, 9th, around 2PM-ish at Atlantic Airventure Centre and Museum Shannon.
The usual meeting day, 1st Saturday of each month, is far too close to the New Year Day.

To all members, supporters and friends, have a nice Christmas and pleasant celebrations of all the festivities ahead
Hope to see you all again next year :D
