Hi everyone, This show by the Model Railway Society of Ireland is held every two years on the October Bank Holiday weekend in St. Paul's College, Raheny, Dublin. I went along with my two sons, mostly to keep them entertained for an hour or two. Just thought I'd post some modelling related photos. This display was called "Dun Na Riain" and I think combined different elements of Irish coastal defences around the country during WW2 into one display (it had a small munitions train running on it). Note the Walrus flying top cover. ![]() ![]() ![]() I think the patrol boat was converted from Airfix. ![]() Most definitely not conveted from Airfix was this 1/200 Bismarck by Charlie Glaholm. He built it from one of those magazine series' where you get different parts every week (140 issues) Nice touch was a pair of Swordfish on top of the display case (not pictured) ![]() Level of detail was incredible... ![]() His current kit is also from a magazine - it's a 1/32 Avro Lancaster with full internals. ![]() The panels are aluminium sheet cut to fit using a template supplied. Certain panels are removable using magnets on the back ![]() Thanks for looking, Dermot |

Thanks for posting the photos, Dermot. I was there on the Saturday with my pair. All of the layouts on display are really impressive, the amount of time and effort that goes into each one is scary. |

Vincent It's my hobby and I will enjoy it my way!
