Thanks, Bernd - that's a good one of Pat.

Don't know who in the background you are referring to...I only see two (relatively) young gentlemen, and one very young modeller.... ;)

Although I was only able to make the Saturday I echo the thoughts already aired here. I had a great day and can't wait for the next event.

No, we have one member from Sligo, Michael, who jokingly took over a spare table in the club area and declared it the Sligo Branch. One day we may though.

Just got the details of the kitswop.........

This was excellently organised by Ken McFarlane.

Eleven members of the club participated in the kitswop, selling some of their excess stash of kits and other details (and in one or two cases actual made-up kits).

.

Of course, we then went and spent the money we had got on other things in the kitswop, or with the traders (well, I know I did - I think I made about €6.50 profit on the weekend).

.....But the space in the attic is a little bit smaller ...honest! ;)

JAYSUS PHILIP!!!
You should know better than to post such details for public viewing, you never know when one of those
bu88ers from the Revenue Commissioners might be looking in and come asking about things income
tax and VAT returns and other such things!!! :-"
Seriously though, did one of those esteemed members of the Revenue not make and appearance at
Salute asking about items for sale from the club display table??

I thought that those b--gers would be busy writing the Budget over the weekend, and not looking at a very small forum about a very small club's event in a small hotel in Dublin, when they haven't managed to get the BILLIONS that are owed to the rest of us from certain so-called developers, and certain former *ankers......(OK Sean, I'll stop the rant).

But I take your point, so have amended my post accordingly. Let's just say that the event was a great success!

I posted to show how much value it is to be a member of IPMS Ireland, as this is a perk of membership, and as the kitswop was something that I was strong on having at our Nationals, as you may recall, from the very first one in 2010....

Technically Northern Ireland falls under the purview of IPMS UK so although we can certainly accept members from that part of the island we cannot start branches as we would be stepping on IPMS UK's toes, so to speak.

REVOLUTION! I said Derry not Londonderry! Only joking understood, just that the rest of Northern Ireland believe there is no such place as Derry and that Northern Ireland stops at Lough Neagh :)

There is, or was, an IPMS Northern Ireland which is a branch of IPMS UK. I don't know if they still exist but might be worth looking into.

And when the little one heads for school we merge into the Sligo-Cavan Naval Branch (of the IPPMS - putting paper in its proper place again) with regular meetings at Chateau BB for coffee ... ;) ... oh, wait ... have to join IPMS first ... January 1st it will be ...

As to the Stroke City Branch ... isn't there a lot of cash still floating around for cross-border initiatives?

I, actually, think, that I have figured out way around that border line... The master plan might accommodate Sligo Branch as well.
I hope to write a bit about it in the next day or two in the 'Club/Committee section' to see what the membership will think about it. :'(

Now back to topic :bonk: any more photos anyone? Any link to photo albums, etc?
