Hello all,

Just an update for the IMSS Show later this month, attended our monthly meeting last night the venue is in Collins Barracks Museum however it is not the same room as before during our last show in Collins, it is in the Old Riding School building which is at the back of the main car park (bigger building) and adjacent to the car park entrance to the museum building. Parking is free and its looking like one of our best shows is about to take place with a lot promised for the competition and display tables, the best of luck to all attending and competing.

If somebody could put up a link or a map, or directions how to get to the car park for folks using their own petrol burners and not too familiar with road layout around this particular area, that would be great.

Thanks

Here you go - if you click on it it should open in Flickr and you can view it in higher resolution. . If you haven't been to the barracks before- a word of warning-the cafe is very expensive so bring your sandwiches

Yes I think so. I can't remember what happened at the last Dublin Branch meeting let alone that far back :)

Are you planning on coming up on the Saturday or the Sunday? If you want to enter the competition but cannot make it yourself until the Sunday, and can send on models up via someone else on the Saturday, or even before May 25th, one of us would be happy to enter it in your name on the Saturday morning.

Thanks, Philip.
At the moment, it's a bit too early to say for sure what the final plan will be... We'll see what happens during the week before the show.

No prob, Filip. Offer is there, if your club members want to enter anything in the IMSS....

If you are up in Dublin the previous Saturday, May 18th, we'd be delighted to see you, or any of your club members, at the Porterhouse. We will be there from about 12.30 pm till about 2 (after which, past experience shows, we are likely to be found in either Marks or Walshie, or maybe both!...)

Cheers,

Philip

...just to confirm:

- Entry fee into the competition is 10 yoyos per name, regardless on the number of individual entries?
- Off-loading of models to the competition commences on Saturday at 10AM?
- The end of the show on Sunday - 1600 hours?

I was loking at the webpage, but haven't found too many details on the above and no mention of any entry fee anywhere...

Filip- as far as I know you have all that info correct. I'm not entirely sure about the fee though- I think it is 10 Euro for unlimited entries but I'm not 100% sure. On Saturday all entries must be in by 1pm so anytime from when the venue opens until then is good for unloading and checking them in. The awards are usually presented about 3pm (usually after the raffle- but I don't know if there is one this year or not) so its usually all finished up by 4 or so as you said.

You're correct Filip, it's a €10 flat fee to enter no matter how many entries you have. It's not much if you have multiple entries but quite a bit for only one entry.

It's to encourage multiple entries

I'm aware. :P

Personally I think it's a bit of a gamble but on the other hand they do have years of experience at this sort of thing.

Thre's no entrance fee as the Museum is a public venue, buit there will be raffle tickets on sale to defray the costs

REMINDER to Club Members

If you are planning on coming to the IMSS show tomorrow or on Sunday, don't forget that we have a table there. If you want to exhibit a couple of your models on the table, then that's fine, but you do need to let me know, so we can make sure that everyone gets their fair share and that nobody comes with a pile of kits and takes the whole table, leaving no space for others, or that we don't have enough to show on the table.

I've already have some responses from some folks, indicating what they intend to bring. Thanks. There's probably still some space available still......let me know please, either by PM or by e-mail today to philipprenton[at]eircom[dot]net.

Sean (35th scale) - I have the handouts printed up, as well as the D2 leaflets, and also a big banner for D2.

See ye there.

Philip

PS - Karl - no problem with a couple of busts, if you want to bring them...

Great, thanks. I have about 20-24 mags to insert them into.
If anyone has any more old modelling mags they want to get rid of please bring them along. The plan is to give them out with the handouts/leaflets inserted. Might encourage some new/old modellers back to the hobby and into our merry little band.

I should be there from about 12 on Saturday
