Anyone not saving their pennies for D5 and/or into modern Airfix 1/48 Afghan stuff stuff will want to get to Hamleys toy shop in Dundrum Centre for these :

2x Quad bikes and trailers €9
Coyote (? it's the six wheeler ) €12
Bae Warrior €15 ( someone else hid it in behind a 1/32 Crusader tank )

Latter seems especially keenly priced at closer to a third than half .Its a series 7/8 kit !

Also have these relics :

Matador and 5.5 inch howitzer €5
Selection of old Airfix series 1/2 armour /afv ( and 2 floatplanes ) at €6
They tend to have inconsistent pricing there .

On a side note had a wander upstairs to the Harvey Nicks food store .Unbelievable prices .Makes Avoca look like Iceland .€2200 brandy ( yeah one bottle , maybe with a pair of glasses ) was dearest item I could see .Anyway those very well heeled English gents obviously like their planes as there was a stout with a He111 on the can , a tonic water with a Mosquito and a pricey vodka called Hangar 1

STAGGERING VALUE !

Today Saturday 25 Feb Hamleys Toy Store Dundrum Shopping Centre

Airfix 1/24 Mosquito was €207 now €75 small 'punch' inbox lid but sealed
Airfix 1/72 Shackleton was forty something now €20( a second is priced at €30)
Airfix 1/48 Lightning was €38 now €20 one only others at full price ( open but complete )

These are a steal .Debating myself whether to EBay them but probably won't bother .Shackleton may be most 'resellable' .

Any of the IPMS lads who want one shout and I will pick one up for you ( need to reply before early /mid Sat afternoon) Ive 'hidden' the ones at special prices behind the full price ones .

Oh and Hamleys have halved their Airfix shelf space .Nof a good sign :-(

Also at Dundrum Art and Hobby Shop Revell 1/700 Indianapolis €2.99 and He115 1/72 €4.99 both ancient ex Matchbox but cheap .Theres a Revell 1/72 ex MPM Meteor also in bargain bin unpriced but it was less than the He115 new...

Sad to see Hamleys Airfix ( and Hornsby) selection severely depleted. Not a great sign ...

For those interested in the last of their stock it includes

Airfix

Whitley €30
Shackleton €48 but one at €30 sale sticker price
1/48 BAC Lightning around €33
RAF Rescue Boat€20 ,E/S Boot €42(?) and maybe one Vosper MTB (?)
HMS Belfast gift sets galore at €25?
Vanguard and Comet airliners €18 each

Few Eindeckers , Be2cs ,Beaufughters ,maybe a Blenheim etc
Eh NATO ground crew set in 1/72 , this is like a memory test now ! They used have a great 1/76 Military selection -all gone -probably dumped / resent to central stores (?)
If you're not looking for any of the above you're unlikely to find anything else you are...
Oh they have a starter set rack with oddballs like loads of Ford GT40s at €20++ a Beetle or two , sailing ship (Mary Rose ?) Spit Mk1 at €11

Right now who's gonna pop in to Marks and run off a quick stock list !?
