Hi all, I've noticed posters about this event on the N7, and had a look at the website. It's on this weekend, so it clashes with the Nationals. Anyone know anything about it? It seems to be its first year... J. Diecast & Hobby Show |

Has there been some discussion about this event that I've missed, I didn't see anything on the forum? J. |

Not that I am aware of, Jason. When we were attending 'Irish Die-Cast Show' in Ennis in April of this year with our Branch Travelling Show we got to talk to guys who are behind this event in Punchestown. They were very adamant to see us there with our models, but as soon as they've mentioned the provisional date, we thought that there is a possibility of clashing with our Nationals. I've, probably, mentioned it here on the forum somewhere and I had a brief chat about the show with Philip on the IMSS gig and I have mentioned that I have a vision of IPMS IRL Nats running as a part of that show in the future, but that's matter for another discussion. Anyway, as we've heard nothing from the organisers since I thought that it's not happening at the end...until a few weeks ago, when they got back to me again. Unfortunately, there's nothing what I, or Limerick / Shannon Branch, could do about it. Nevertheless, I always thought that it would be nice to have a small presence of our Club on that show. Hopefully, we, as a Club, will be able to do something about it next year. |

Hopefully next year their dates and our dates do not clash together. |

Yes indeed, the organiser was on to me following on from his discussion with Filip last April, and I strongly urged him not to go with any dates that would clash with ours (which had been organised, and advertised, well before then). At the time, I checked the Punchestown website, and there was no mention of that show, so I can only presume that it was not finalised then. However, he went ahead anyhow. It is a pity, and I have since suggested to him that we might co-ordinate dates in 2014 before anything is booked, on either side. I agree that it would be nice to have a stand there (after all, Punchestown is only 3 miles from where Jason and I both live, so would be an easy one to do), but we have to think of IPMS IRELAND first. I don't, personally, believe that we should, or could, combine our own Nationals with his show, or indeed anyone else's show, but that's a debate for another place and time, and a decision for the incoming Committee of IPMS Ireland in any event.
